On 1 December 2025, Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M) successfully wrapped up the final session of the “Advancing Beneficial Ownership Compliance in Corporate Malaysia” workshop series at the Amari Hotel, Johor Bahru.
TI-M extends its deepest appreciation to our partners, MAICSA and the Companies Commission Of Malaysia / Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM), whose support and collaboration ensured the workshops were effectively executed throughout the programme.
The concluding workshop gathered more than 40 participants from companies and government agencies in Johor Bahru, with company secretaries and integrity officers forming the majority of attendees. The session was officiated by Mr. Balbeer Jessy K.M.N., TI-M EXCO member, and featured engaging presentations by Ms. Samantha Tai Yit Chan of MAICSA and Ms. Norehan Binti Azili from CCM/SSM Johor Bahru. The programme was formally closed by Ms. Nurirdzuana Ismail, Secretary General of TI-M, who wrapped up the session with key reflections and closing remarks.
Looking ahead, TI-M hopes that companies will put into practice the compliance strategies, regulatory updates, and best practices shared throughout the workshops, while aligning closely with the enforcement of the Companies (Amendment) Act 2024, which strengthens Beneficial Ownership regulations. We remain committed to guiding stakeholders through these reforms and believe the relationships built with our partners and participants will continue to grow. TI-M welcomes future collaborations that advance transparency, accountability, and integrity, all in the spirit of building a better Malaysia! ✨
